The Heritage Boat Association in collaboration with the Irish Working Horse Association (I.W.H.A.) will re-enact the towing by horse of a canal boat. The date is Saturday Sept.1st and the site is the flight along Whitworth Road, Drumcondra on the Royal Canal in conjunction with the Phizzfest event. More detail as the plan is formalised and all are welcome on the afternoon.

A Very Grand Canal......A collection of artistic responses to the grand Canal in Offally commissioned by Offaly county council under the percent for art scheme. Artists include Geraldine O'Reilly, Las Cosa Preziosa, Mixed Bag Media,Eugene O'Brien, Veronica Nicholson,and Wayne Brennan. An exhibition of prints, sound, film, music, photography and literature all of which have been inspired by the Grand canal in Offaly.

The exhibition is open to the public in the Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre, Grand Canal Quay Dublin from August 14th until September 7th. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm Wed - Sun.

Heritage Week 2012.......This year the Kilcock community are hosting our display of boards. They will be on view in the Community Network Premises.

There was a great turn-out of vessels for the Jamestown Heritage week and our thanks to skippers who braved the elements and ensured a good attendance. The local committee provided a busy week of events and our thanks to them for a memorable week. A "River Rat Calendar" re-launch raised the amazing sum of €1500 which was a great effort for all involved.
