THE MIDSUMMER BOAT RALLY 2012

Your hosts - The Abbeyshrule Canal Group - look forward to welcoming all boaters and canal lovers to the Midsummer Boat Rally that runs at weekends, from June 23rd to July 14th 2012.
There is no entry fee.

For your enjoyment, we have arranged the following:

Sat June 23rd: Coolnahay Harbour
BBQ, Music and Dance in the open air

Sat June 30th: Abbeyshrule
Tea and Sandwiches will be served throughout the day
Treasure Hunt along the canal
Music and Dance in the Harbour
Music in Rustic Inn at 18:00 hrs

Sun July 1st: Brannigan Ballymahon
Family Fun Day – a great day out

Sat July 7th: Foigha
BBQ, Music and Chat

Sun July 8th: Kenagh
Mosstown Harbour will be alive with festivities – great craic

Sat July 14th: Kilashee
The evening will end with a four course dinner at The Chestnut Tree
[The meal, entertainment and dancing will cost €18 pp]

Twenty boats are scheduled to make their way from Dublin along the Royal starting on June 3rd; many will be participating in this event. Some are also expected to arrive from the Shannon.

MARINE NOTICE No. 53 of 2012
ROYAL CANAL
Summit Level Rising
Marine Notice No 36 of 2012 refers.

Waterways Ireland wishes to advise masters and users of the Royal Canal that
the summit level is currently 200mm below the Top Navigation level and
rising. It is hoped to have the level back to Top Navigation level by Friday
1st June.

Any masters wishing to move their vessels West of Coolnahay should arrange
to do so at this time as no guarantee can be given to sustain water levels
on the summit.
