Renaissance of the birthplace of many Irish barges Of great interest to many members of the Heritage Boat Association are the Graving Dry Docks in the outer basin of Grand Canal Docks. We have written about them, toured them, photographed them, featured them on our website, read various reports about their future and discussed how and what should be done with them, sometimes into the wee hours of the morning. Many of these activities have been carried out with members of the Dublin Branch of the IWAI.
Now we are delighted to report that our intrepid friends with the blessing of WI and the DDDA have a plan to start the rejuvenation process, by securing the site of the smaller of the two remaining Docks and ...... they have started work on them. Read all about it here Grand Canal Graving Docks and please note, they can do with all the help they can get.
So, who is going to join this really worthwhile endeavour? Contact Details: Mick Kinahan Dublin IWAI
