Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain

One of the main aims of the Heritage Boat Association (HBA) is to highlight the unique and colourful histories of heritage boats on Ireland’s inland waterways. By doing this we can illustrate the importance of the past and, hopefully, encourage people to continue to preserve our unique floating heritage. To date, the HBA has published three books which gather the individual histories of nearly 150 boats. Cool Metal - Clear Water was published in 2006, followed by Fine Lines - Clear Water in 2009. A fully revised and enlarged second edition of Cool Metal - Clear Water was published in 2017

These books are available to buy at the IWAI Online Shop
