The Heritage Boat Association celebrates 175 years of the Scariff Navigation

This July and August the fleet of The Heritage Boat Association will visit the town of Scariff as part of the 2015 Waterways Ireland Scariff Harbour Festival. This is the first time for many years that the fleet will have arrived in the town en masse; more than twenty of the big canal boats are expected to provide a spectacular backdrop to the Festival activities.

Additional Events include:

• Programme of Heritage lectures
• Display of iconic 45M cargo boat of ‘Waterways’ fame
• Celebration of Scariff’s steamboat Ida.

The HBA look forward to meeting and celebrating with the people of Scariff and its hinterland and, in particular, re-uniting those whose families that were involved with the commercial activities of these boats along the river.
