A group of boats were invited to sample a newly charted and marked area below the lock at Meelick on the middle Shannon. Donal Boland and Pat Mc Manus had done the groundwork and with the locals were anxious to have this quiet backwater used by the boating community. The venue was ideal for people heading to Lough Derg after the Shannon Harbour rally and there was a great atmosphere throughout the fleet in the brilliant sunshine. There was another opportunity for the new owners of ex WI work boats to show them off and 45M was in attendance with her bollinder sounding as good as ever.

This quiet mooring will no doubt be used again.
