In May 2005, a family from Athy in County Kildare pointed their newly acquired barge north on the Barrow. Their objective was to make their way slowly along the canals and arrive on the Shannon at the start of their Summer holidays. However, as they were making their final preparations, a group of barges and boats (crewed by some lovely people) arrived in town on their way south. Somehow or other, they were persuaded to join in the adventure south and of course, the rest is history. Here are some photos of their travels along the Three Sisters.
