On Sunday April 11th some members of the HBA took time out from travelling on big boats east along the Grand Canal, to join various branches of the IWAI in a Small Boat Rally to Gibralter and Pollardstown. Sixty plus members on twenty boats from the Barrow, Boyne, Cruising Club, Dublin, Kildare, Lough Derg and Slaney branches meandered in sunshine through the clear water of the Fens.

A glorious day, meeting up with many boating friends we had not seen for some time. You will be delighted to know that the HBA contingent did not starve on this jaunt; homemade (boatmade) double-decker sandwiches, savoury turnovers, apple tart, carrot and banana muffins were among the fare on offer for lunch.
